ANNE KERMODE

Bermudian artist Anne grew up in the north of England but has lived in St. George’s most of her adult life. Anne studied art as a teenager at the Bermuda Collage and then Art, History and English Literature at Lancaster University in the U.K.

Inspiration for Anne’s current style of dot painting came from Aboriginal tribal art. After studying the motifs and styles from “down under”, Anne began to apply Bermuda’s colours and creatures to create paintings that centered around circles. This love of circles led to a fascination with the sacred symbolism of Mandalas. Now Anne paints on a variety of surfaces, combining her love of Bermuda, pattern and colour into treasured works of art.

Anne has three children and a husband who constantly comes home with fresh ideas for art. Each oiece of Annes art is hand painted, with love, in St. George’s.
